The aim of the Indigenous Medicine Conservation Trust
is to protect the ancient traditions of indigenous
peoples throughout the world by:

  • the conservation of indigenous knowledge by the documentation and preservation of oral traditions, particularly in medicine, ethnobotany and spirituality, for the posterity of future generations

  • the establishment of integrated health clinics within rural communities where indigenous systems of medicine can be practiced alongside the existing healthcare system of the country

  • the conservation of native medicinal plants; and the conservation of land inhabited by indigenous peoples

  • the promotion of a greater understanding of and respect for indigenous knowledge and the natural environment, and protection of the rights of indigenous peoples, their ancient traditions and culture
